从以上公式中可看出:fups、h%、n、uk愈大,则s油机也愈大。就是说,ups的输入功率因数愈高,意味着它从前级电源获取的有功功率就愈大,因而,当油机的功率因数确定后就要有较大的油机容量相适应才行;同样,谐波量、谐波次数、阻抗压降愈大,它对电网产生的损耗也大。而f油大,则s油机就小,就是说,油机的输出功率因数愈高,意味着它能给出的有功功率就愈大,因而当ups的输入功率因数确定后满足所需有功功率时的无功功率就可减少,油机的视在功率就小。提高ups的整机效率ηups对于减少油机容量也有直接的影响。 

  另外,需要说明的是:实际油机的选型往往比计算的要小,以降低成本,可在运行中又未发生什么问题。这是因为实际中的负载一般较小,且ups使用中大负载量一般在额定的70%--80%,很难满载,因而由此导致的问题就没有暴露出来。如果以上推算正确的话,那么,在油机选型时就应该作为依据,这对于整个系统在额定状态下正常运行是必须的!
