The fail-safe SIMATIC S7-1200 G2 Controllers are based on theS7-1200 G2 standard CPUs and offer additional safety-relatedfunctions.
They can be used for safety-related tasks according to IEC 61508 upto SIL 3 and ISO 13849-1 up to PL e.
Safety-related programs are created in the TIA Portal. TheSTEP 7 Safety engineering tool offers commands, operations andblocks for safety-related programs in the LAD and FBD languages. Tothis end, there is a library with pre-configured blocks forsafety-related functions certified by the German TechnicalInspectorate (TÜV).
