xiameter pmx-200 silicone fluid is highly soluble in organicsolvents such as aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, and thehalocarbon propellants used in aerosols. the fluid is easilyemulsified in water with standard emulsifiers and normalemulsificationues. xiameter pmx-200 silicone fluid isinsoluble in water and many organic products.

additive as small as 0.1% may suffice where xiameterpmx-200 silicone fluidis to be used as a surface agent or forde-soaping creams and lotions. however, 1–10% is needed forapplications such as hand creams and lotions to form a more uniformfilm and effective barrier.

this version of pmx-200 is 100cs (centi-stoke) viscosity.

applications:

active ingredient in a variety of automotive, furniture, metaland specialty polishes in paste, emulsion and solvent-basedpolishes and aerosols

various applications including cosmetic ingredient, elastomerand plastics lubricant, electrical insulating fluid, foampreventive or breaker, mechanical fluid, mold release agent,surface active agent, and solvent based finishing and fat li leather

pleasenote: the viscosities generally used in formulatingpolishes are between 100 and 30,000 cs (centi-stoke). to obtainoptimum results, in terms of ease of application and depth ofgloss, it is preferable to use a blend of a low-viscosity fluid anda high-viscosity fluid (e.g. 3 parts xiameter™ pmx-200 siliconefluid 100 cs and 1 part xiameter™ pmx-200 silicone fluid 12,500cs). the low-viscosity silicone fluid acts as a lubricant to makepolish application and rubout easier, whereas the high-viscositysilicone fluid produces a greater depth of gloss. since thesepolymers are inherently water-repellent, they will cause water tobead up on a treated surface rather than penetrate the polishfilm.
