pom has high strength, rigidity, good elasticity and wearresistance. its mechanical properties are excellent, the specificstrength can reach 50.5 mpa, the specific stiffness can reach 2650mpa, which is very close to the metal. the mechanical properties ofpom changed little with temperature, and the change ofcopolymerized pom was slightly larger than that of homopolymerizedpom. the impact strength of pom is higher than that of abs and pc,but the impact strength of pom is sensitive to the notch, and thenotch can reduce the impact strength by 90% . the fatigue strengthof pom is very outstanding. the fatigue strength of pom under 10cyclic loading is 35mpa, while that of pa and pc is only 28mpa. thecreep behavior of pom is similar to that of pa..thee creep behaviorofpomm is only 2.3% at 20°cc, 21mpaa and 3000h. the frictioncoefficient of pom is small, the wear resistance of pom is good(pom & gt; pa66 & gt; pa6 & gt; abs & gt; hpvc & gt; ps & gt; pc) ,the limit pv is very big, the self-lubrication is good. when pomproducts are grinded, it is easy to produce screaming noise underhigh load. the electrical properties of pom have good electricalinsulation and are hardly affected by temperature and humidity. thepermittivity and dielectric loss vary little in a wide range oftemperature, humidity and fre the dielectric strength of pomis related to its thickness. when the thickness is 0.127 mm, it is82.7 kv / mm, and when the thickness is 1.88 mm, it is 23.6 kv /mm. environmental properties pom is not resistant to strong acidand oxidant, and has certain stability to acrylic acid and weakacid. pom is solvent-resistant, resistant to hydrocarbons,alcohols, aldehydes, ethers, gasoline, lubricating oil and weakbase, etc. . small water absorption, good dimensional stability.the weather resistance of pom is not good, and the mechanicalproperty of pom decreases under the action of ultraviolet ray for along time. the surface of pom becomes powdery andcracked.
