基本性质

为略带琥珀色的线型聚合物。除强极性溶剂、浓硝酸和硫酸外，对一般酸、碱、盐、醇、脂肪烃等稳定。部分溶于酯酮`芳烃,可溶于卤烃`dm。刚性和韧性好，耐温、耐热氧化，抗蠕变性能优良，耐无机酸、碱、盐溶液的腐蚀，耐离子辐射，无毒，绝缘性和自熄性好，容易成型加工。

§177.2500 polyphenylene sulfoneresins
　　the polyphenylene sulfone resins （cas reg. no. 31833-61-1）identified in paragraph （a） of this section may be safely used asarticles or components of articles intended for repeated use incontact with food, subject to the provisions of this section.

（a） identity. for the purpose of thissection, polyphenylene sulfone resins consist of basic resinproduced by reacting polyphenylene sulfide with peracetic acid suchthat the finished resins meet the specifications set forth inparagraph （c） of this section. the polyphenylene sulfide used tomanufacture polyphenylene sulfone is prepared by the reaction ofsodium sulfide and p -dichlorobenzene, and has a minimum weightaverage molecular weight of 5,000 daltons.

（b） optional adjuvant substances. thebasic polyphenylene sulfone resins identified in paragraph （a） ofthis section may contain optional adjuvant substances required inthe production of such basic resins. these optional adjuvantsubstances may include substances permitted for such use byregulations in parts 170 through 189 of this chapter, substancesgenerally recognized as safe in food, or substances used inaccordance with a prior sanction or approval.

（c） specifications. the glasstransition temperature of the polymer is 360±5 °c as determined bythe use of differential scanning calorimetry.
