the stmc109 is a high side current sense monitor.using this deviceeliminates the need to disrupt the ground plane when sensing aload current.it takes a high side voltage developed across acurrent shunt resistor and translates it into aproportional output current.
a user defined output resistor scales the output current intoa ground-referenced voltage.
thewideinput voltagerangeof 20vdown to aslow as 2.5v make itsuitable for a range of applications. a minimum operatingcurrent of just 4μa, combined with its sot23 package make it aunique solution,suitable for portable battery equipment.
