Digital inputs/outputs as a supplement to the integral I/O ofthe SIMATIC S7-1200 G2 CPUs

can be used with all SIMATIC S7-1200 CPUs

For subsequent expansion of the system with additional inputsand outputs
Digital expansion modules allow you to use further digitalinputs/outputs in addition to the existing integral digitalinputs/outputs.
This provides users with the following advantages:
Optimal adaptation:
With signal modules which can be mixed as desired, users canadapt their controllers exactly to the relevant task. This avoidssuperfluous investments. Modules with 16 input/output channels areavailable.
Signal boards can be used where space is limited or if only afew additional inputs/outputs are re A CPU 1212 can bemodularly expanded with one signal board and a CPU 1214 with up to2 signal boards. This does not increase the mounting space re the controller.
Flexibility:
If the task is expanded subse, the controller can beupgraded. Updating of the user program is extremely simple.
The signal modules have the same design features as the basicdevices:
Installation on DIN rails:
The modules are snapped onto the rail next to the CPU on the rightand are electrically and mechanically connected to each other andto the CPU by the integral slide mechanism.
Direct installation:
Horizontal or vertical mounting on DIN rail or direct mounting inthe cabinet using integral drill holes.
All digital modules are easy to replace thanks to removableconnecting terminals ("permanent wiring").
The signal boards are plugged directly into the holder on the frontof the S7-1200 CPU.
Mounting:
Signal boards are plugged directly into the SIMATIC S7-1200 G2CPU, and are thus connected electrically and mechanically with theCPU.
The installation dimensions of the CPU remain unchanged.
Replacement of all signal boards is facilitated by removableterminals ("permanent wiring").
