   description
   resistance thermometers in this series can be combined with a largenumber of thermowell designs. the replaceable, centricallyspring-loaded measuring insert and its extended spring travelenable combination with the widest range of
connection head designs.
    a wide variety of possible combinations ofsensor, connection head, insertion length, neck length, connectionto thermowell etc. are available for the thermometers; suitable forany thermowell dimension and any application.

    the exchangeablemeasuring insert is made of a vibrationresistant sheathed measuringcable (mi cable).
    the diameter of the measuring insert should beapprox. 1 mm smaller than the bore diameter of the thermowell. gapsof more than 0.5 mm between thermowell and the
measuring insert will have a negative effect on the heat transfer,and they will result in unfavourable response behaviour from thethermometer.
    when fitting the measuring insert into athermowell, it is very important to determine the correct insertionlength (= thermowell length for bottom thicknesses of ≤ 5.5 mm).the measuring insert should be spring-loaded (spring travel: 0 ...20 mm) in order to ensure that it presses against the bottom of thethermowell.

 

   necktube
    the neck tube is screwedinto the connection head or the case. the neck length depends onthe intended use. usually an isolation is bridged by the neck tube.also, in many cases, the neck tube serves as a cooling extensionbetween the connection head and the medium, in order to protect anypossible built-in transmitter from high medium temperatures.
    in the ex d version the flameproof joint isintegrated in the neck tube.

    theclassification/suitability of the instrument (permissible powerpmax as well as the permissible ambient temperature) for therespective category can be seen on the ec typeexaminationcertificate or on the iecex certificate and in the operatinginstructions.

    built-in transmittershave their own ec type-examination certificate. the permissibleambient temperature ranges of the built-in transmitters can betaken from the corresponding transmitter approval.

 

   functional safety(option)
    in safety-criticalapplications, the entire measuring chain must be taken intoconsideration in terms of the safety parameters. the silclassification allows the assessment of the risk reduction reachedby the safety installations.
    selected tr12 process resistance thermometers incombination with an appropriate temperature transmitter (e.g. modelt32.1s) are suitable as sensors for safety
functions up to sil-2.
    matched thermowells allow easy dismounting ofthe measuring insert for calibration. the optimally tuned measuringpoint consists of a thermowell, a tr12
thermometer and a t32.1s transmitter developed in accordance withiec 61508. thus, the measuring point provides maximum reliabilityand a long service life.
