item description:vas 5054ais auniversal diagnostic interface for the vehicles of the volkswagengroup and all obd vehicle systems from other manufacturers. theintegrated bluetooth interface connects the vehicle with anotebook, desktop pc or test system. no cables are needed forvehicle diagnostics when using the vas 5054a. the range of thewireless bluetooth connection is from 2 to 5 meters,depending onthe environment and the type of bluetooth adapter used on the pcside. the serial port profile (spp) is used for data transfer viabluetooth. different bluetooth security levels are allsupported.
specifications:the vehicle protocols are handleddirectly in thevas 5054a. this ensures fastresponse times and a reliable real-time behavior independently ofthe pc operating system. every time a connection is established,the vas 5054a software is identified with the version installed onthe application pc. the vas 5054a thus automatically adopts any newfeatures provided after a new software version has been installedon the application pc. the diagnostic application and theassociated diagnostic base system are installed on the applicationpc. the diagnostic base system can access to the vas 5054a viabluetooth or usb.
bluetooth + usb version:access viabluetooth:after a connection to the vas 5054a has been setup, the bluetooth software provides a virtual serial com port(bluetooth serial port profile). the diagnostic base system usesthis com port to communicate with the vas 5054a. you need tospecify this port when you install the diagnosticapplication.access via usb:you can also connectthe vas 5054a to the application pc by using the supplied usbcable. windows detects the vas 5054a through plug and play, andautomatically installs the drivers copied when you installed thediagnostic application. setup of the vas 5054a is then complete andthe device is ready for use by the diagnostic application.
