fedex express, a subsidiary of fedex corp. (nyse: fdx) and one ofthe world’s largest express transportation companies, has set arecord for successfully executing the first ever cross-borderpackage delivery from malaysia to singapore with an electricvehicle (ev). the attempt was recognized by the malaysia book ofrecords for “first zero emission cross-border delivery”. it alsounderscores the company’s goal of achieving carbon neutraloperations by 2040.
on february 27, 2024, the milestone journey, which spanned adistance of 406 kilometres, commenced at a fedex station in shahalam and concluded at a fedex facility at changi airport insingapore. the journey was completed with just a single charge injohor. it also demonstrated approximately 100 kilograms reductionof tailpipe co2 emissions when compared to diesel-poweredvans.
