工作原理：
该模块通过发射和检测红外光来工作，就像电视遥控器一样。四个红外发射器和四个红外探测器之间交替发送和接收，有效避测到自身的反射信号。
发送和检测周期超过1000次/秒，并且由板子上的微型控制器通过处理来自四个接收器的数据来判断信号方向。
板子的使用很简单--它有四个数字输出，可以读出四个方向中哪几个方向检测到了目标信号。把两块板子放在一起，来回旋转其中一块板子，另一块板子的指示灯就能够指明它的位置方向。还有一个使能端可以选择切换到工作模式还是低功耗模式。

the pololu irbeacon is a compact board that is used in pairs to allow robots tolocate each other. each board has infrared emitters that shine inall directions and four ir receivers for detecting the otherbeacon. the ir beacons have a range of about fifteen feet indoors.this item is for a pair of beacons in one package.
pololu’s new irbeacon (infrared beacon) is an updated version of our original irbeacon. like the original unit, the devices are transceivers meantto be used in pairs to give robots a simple means for detectingeach other. you can use the beacons to build pairs of robots thatinteract or chase one another, or to make a robot that can identifyand return to a home base. for example, you could build a “catrobot” and “mouse robot” that each have an ir beacon, where the catchases the mouse and the mouse runs away from the cat. the beaconsare ideal for autonomous robot contests in which robots compete inpairs, such as mit’s annual 6.270 autonomous robot designcompetition, where our original beacons were used for severalyears.
the new irbeacons feature round pcbs with six wide-angle emitters to provideuniform broadcasting in all directions. the operating voltage rangehas increased to 6 – 16 v, and on-board voltage monitoring enablesa more consistent output brightness over the voltage range. mostcomponents are pre-assembled, so all you need to solder is thecapacitor, connectors, and sensors (make sure you solder them infrom the bottom of the pcb!).
note:the pololu ir beacon is a kit; beforeusing it, you need to assemble the beacon by soldering itscomponents onto its circuit board. to use the kit in roboticsprojects, you need to connect it to your own robot controller.please note that the ir beacons only work in pairs and that certainkinds of artificial lighting (e.g. some fluorescent lights) caninterfere with the sensors.
