preparation

installing batteries

your measurer requires 9v battery(not supply) for power. for the best performance and life, werecommend alkaline battery.

follow these steps to install abattery.

caution: if you do not plan to use the measurer for amonth or more, remove the battery, batteries can leak chemicalsthat can destroy electronic parts.

stabilizing themeasurer

your measurer is sensitive tochanges in temperature and humidity. before you use the measurer,wait about 15~30 minutes for it to stabilize to the current room’stemperature.

turning the measureron/off

to turn on the measurer,pressmeasurer. the measurer turns itself off if nokey is pressed within about 1 minute.

taking a measurement

notes:

the measurement appears for about1 minute (or longer if you press another key)

error might appear if you try tomeasure a distance shorter than the range of 1.5 feet (0.45m) orlonger than 60 feet (18.288meters)

measuring tips

some type of curtains and blindscan absorb sound waves.

causing measurements to beinaccurate. if you are measuring distances in a room with curtains.open the curtains before measuring the distance to a window behindthem. also, be sure that the window is closed.

if there is not clear path betweenthe points where you are measuring. you might receive a falsereading from sound waves bouncing off objects such as chairs,tables and objects with uneven surfaces. if you are not sure if ameasurement is correct, move slightly to one side then measure thedistance again.

if the surface of a wall you aremeasuring is not sold and flat, or if you are measuring in a narrowcorridor. you might receive a false reading .if this happens, use asold surface to measure or move to the center of thecorridor.

to measure a distance longer than60 feet (18.288 meters) select a point in the middle of the room(for example) measure from the center of the room toward each side.then add the two measurements.

note: data of area orvolume can not be saved.

to find the volume of a room,measure the height. width and the length of the room and store eachmeasurement in a different memory location (see “saving ameasurement”). then pressvolume,the volumecalculation result appear.
