 fedex express, a subsidiary of fedex corp. (nyse:fdx) andone of the world’s largest express transportation companies,announced its collaboration with zonta club of makati and environs(zonta) for the second consecutive year to empower women inscience, technology, engineering, and mathematics (stem) as part ofthe fedex cares program.

fedex donated over php1.9 million to zonta’s empowering womenscholarship program (ewsp), which supports marginalized womenenrolled in engineering and science courses. the fedex grant willbenefit engineering students from the polytechnic university of thephilippines for the three-year educational program. the financialsupport covers expenses for transportation, food, school supplies,research materials for thesis projects, and graduation fees.

as part of fedex commitment to diversity, equity and inclusionand to furthering gender e, fedex is holding a virtualcareer fair on february 26 to help the students prepare for theirfirst job. they will be given the opportunity to craft aprofessional resume and gain experience in a mock job interviewconducted by fedex human resources specialists.

this is part of fedex ongoing efforts to develop the nextgeneration of leaders. the ewsp is one of many initiatives fedexsupports to address the social and economic needs of localcommunities.
