(nyse: fdx) and one of the world’s largest expresstransportation companies, has announced the completion of thelatest upgrades to its gateway facility in shenzhen, china. byrenovating and expanding the import warehouse, the updated gatewaywill further improve import operations and provide customsclearance efficiency for customers in the southern chinaregion.

as one of the four major fedexinternational gateways in china, the shenzhen international gatewayis located at shenzhen baoan international airport and is primarilyresponsible for handling import and export packages for multiplecities in south china and some areas in southwestern china. theimport warehouse is now e with an advanced intelligentmanagement system e-warehouse and an additional sort belt. thegateway has expanded its footprint by 48% to over 4,500 s, doubling the sorting capacity of packages and documents,while increasing freight handling capacity by 50%.
