跟单的英语翻译是walkthrough，意思是负责handle住整个外贸业务的流程，包含各种外贸单据：合同、报关单、装箱单、保险单据制作等，负责业务流程不出现差错。而跟单英语自然也与这些单据有关，涉及一些专业术语，所以才需要专门划分出这个细分学科，加强大家对外贸跟单英语的认识。

外贸跟单员一般都是配合外贸业务员，负责整个业务的单据整理，做好后勤工作。保证业务流程顺利进行，对出货负责，保证合同如期执行。
