dow corning®high vacuum grease is astiff, non-melting silicone lubricating material which hastemperature range of -40ºc to 200ºc. although it has a goodstability at the higher end of the temperature range than mosthydrocarbon greases, it shows a higher outgassing rate at roomtemperature. it can be used for high vacuum systems up to the1x10-6mbar(1x10-6torr)range. due to it"s initial outgassing, it is recommended tocondition vacuum system before use. not for use in electronmicroscopes. also not recommended for use in evaporators which needto be si free. the dow corning®high vacuumgrease is the e product to dowcorning®976 of 976v high vacuum grease.other applications include lubricant for glass stopcocks, glassjoints, glass rubber connections and o-rings on binoculars. shelflife is 60 months from date of manufacture for unopened containersand stored at normal warehouse conditions
