西安雅思一对一，西安雅思一对一辅导班，本期雅思“以小见大”系列，不是说给你们普及只有“大词”（大词指一般学生不认识），主要会以“小词”为主（大家都认识，做题也碰到过，但是以为它们只被考了一次或者对于小词的理解还停留在高中或者大学英语水平）。

但是不要小看一周积累一词的效果，绝对不是简单罗列该词中文意思及简单同义替换（记住阅读的同义替换不等同于你们写作中，尽管有重叠），以剑桥雅思阅读系列真题为素材，通过“题”和“原文答案”的匹配，让你养成“雅思考官眼中词汇出题方式“。

以下所有词汇举例均来自“剑桥雅思阅读真题系列”，而非其他单项中。

在具体了解词的用法之前，有必要给大家梳理雅思阅读基本常识。

雅思阅读背景知识：

雅思阅读对于词的考法，无非两种：

同义替换：中文意思对等 | 褒贬对等 | 中文意思拆解对等 | 反义同义替换

代词指代：考察单复数

aware背景知识：

本周讲解雅思阅读中高频词“aware”考点，其实严格意义上来说，应该是be aware of经常以这样的方式出现，这个词最基本的意思是“意识到”，为了在实际做题中更好理解，意识到=知道（字典中也有知道的意思）。

本周选取aware进行讲解，除了从高频同义替换角度，还会补充其在雅思阅读中知道的反义同义替换。反义同义替换经常出现在t/g/ng题型（往往选f）和单选题中。那aware既然是知道，反义词即不知道，其中不知道在雅思阅读中也会翻译成忽视。

aware/be aware of 知道

知道：

know=conscious (consciousness)=be aware of（awareness）=realize(realization)

不知道：

not know=unaware=subconscious=subtle（不易察觉的）

忽视：

ignore (ignorance=not know) =neglect (negligible) = overlook =disregard=omit=take no notice

这里需注意：overlook 除了忽视，还有俯瞰=view

part 1：知道

30：be aware of=self-conscious

原文：

题：

32：consciousness=realization=become aware of

原文：

the new consciousness that there were also severe limits tohealth-care resources was part of this general revelation of theobvious.(其中这句话上面一句也出现了become aware of)

题：

原文：

题：

part 2: 不知道（反义同义替换）

4：know=反unaware

原文：mckee and his team now knew for certain that they had foundthe wreck, but were as yet unaware that it also housed a treasuretrove of beautifully preserved artefacts.

题：alexander mckee knew that the wreck would contain manyvaluable historical objects.

这题答案是false，同前面背景知识里谈到，不知道常出现在t/f/ng题里。这里也是雅思烤鸭们经常会发现做题的一个问题，能准确定位，但是题目就是容易做错。因此前半句有knew，后半句出现了but+unaware。

23：

be aware of=反subtle=subconscious

原文：

the effects of sound are often largely subtleand often are notedbyonly our subconscious minds.

题：

audiences tend to be aware of how the background music isaffecting them.

本题属于雅思阅读中对于词的理解得再加工，subtle不再是微妙的意思，应该是“something that is subtleis not immediately obvious or noticeable.不易察觉的”，因此理解为不知道。如果这个词考试不懂很难理解，考官也希望阅读能力强的学生应该能把这道题做对，给了额外的提示：用了并列and+only强调，关注点就是subconscious潜意识=不知道。

subtle知识点拓展：

通过上面的题，我们积累了subtle较少常见的意思，不易察觉的。剑桥5出过一道题是其名词形式subtlety，带大家一起看一下，了解一下雅思阅读中对于常见词，其不常见中文意思的考法。

23：subtlety=shade

原文：

unlike his predecessors, johnson treated english verypractically, as a living language, with many differentshades ofmeaning.

题：

g: it took into account subtleties of meaning.

先看一下这里为什么shade=subtlety？如上图所示，平时学生在做阅读精读中，最简单的一环便是查单词，然而很多学生往往把生词的第一个词性及第一个中文意思记住就可以了，这对于自身雅思词汇量帮助并不是很大。毕竟雅思阅读考察学生的词汇量并不高，积累一定量高级词汇，还需掌握常见单词的多个中文意思，这样才能真正提高你的雅思阅读分数。其中有些中文意思其他词性不经常用到，则可以不用记（如何考察一个单词哪些中文意思不常考，则需要平时精读时需要积累及识别）。如上图，shade第一个词性即名词，是阅读中考察最多的词性，中文意思方面，剑桥10考察过shade=shelter（树荫，阴凉处），这里考察这2个单词都有细微差别的意思。

part 3: 忽视19：not know=ignorance

原文：

psychologist todd kashdan has this advice for those peopletaking up a new passion:'as a newcomer, you also have to tolerateand laugh at your own ignorance.'

题：

people must accept that they do not know much when first tryingsomething new.
